Writing Tips: Writing British Characters? Use These Britishisms

If you're British, you might be offended if someone says , "Please hand me my fanny pack." That particular "f word" meansĀ  something less tasteful on that side of the "pond."

I've read books by American authors that include a British character Few make the dialogue sound real. There's a different cadence, and the idiomsĀ  are nowhere near th same.

If someone calls you a tosser, they're saying you're an idiot.

A dodgy person is suspicious.
